USDT TRC20 to BTC: Swap Tether on Tron to Bitcoin, No KYC
To swap USDT TRC20 to BTC, type the amount, paste the address of your Bitcoin wallet (it begins with bc1, 3 or 1) and the Tron T-address you send from, then transfer the USDT on Tron to the one-time deposit address from a wallet that holds some TRX or energy for the fee. You skip any sign-up or ID step; Bitcoin goes out to you after Tron confirms the deposit, a process of about a minute.

Which USDT network are you sending?
USDT exists on several networks, and each one is a different coin to the exchange. Pick the one your wallet holds:
- Tron (TRC20): addresses start with T. You need a little TRX (or energy) to send. USDT TRC20 to BTC (this page)
- Ethereum (ERC20): addresses start with 0x. You need ETH for gas. USDT ERC20 to BTC
- BNB Smart Chain (BEP20): addresses also start with 0x. You need BNB for gas. USDT BEP20 to BTC
- Solana: addresses are long base58 strings with no 0x prefix. You need a little SOL. USDT SOL to BTC
Never send TRC20 USDT to an ERC20 or BEP20 deposit address, or the other way round.
How much BTC do you get for USDT TRC20?
GhostSwap quotes at 3 Nov 2026, 13:21 UTC, after the service fee and the cost of sending the BTC to your wallet.
The rate floats with the market until your USDT TRC20 deposit confirms.
Paying the Tron fee: TRX, energy and bandwidth
Tron does not charge gas the way Ethereum does. A TRC20 transfer consumes two resources, energy and bandwidth. If your address has staked TRX, those resources come from the stake; if not, the network burns some of your TRX instead. So an address holding USDT but zero TRX cannot send the token.
Trust Wallet and TronLink show the expected cost before you confirm, usually as a TRX figure. A transfer to an address that has never held USDT can cost more energy than one to an address that has, so the estimate varies from one transfer to the next. Keep enough TRX for at least one transfer in the sending address; the USDT you send still matches the quote, because the fee is paid separately.
Heavy USDT users often stake TRX for energy in TronLink, which makes regular transfers much cheaper. For a single swap, holding a little TRX is enough. The deposit confirms on Tron in about a minute.
Send TRC20 only, and send the real token
The deposit address starts with T and accepts Tether on Tron only. USDT held on Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain sits at a 0x address and cannot be sent here; if that is where yours is, use USDT ERC20 to BTC or USDT BEP20 to BTC. Exchanges usually label the network in the withdrawal form as TRC20, TRX or Tron.
Check the token too. Tron wallets often receive unsolicited tokens that copy the USDT name, sent to make an address look rich or to lure people to a fake site. Real Tether on Tron has the contract TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t, which you can see on Tronscan by tapping the token. Only that one counts as a deposit.
Tether itself can freeze USDT at any Tron address, the same as on every other network the token uses. Bitcoin has no issuer with that power.
Bitcoin address formats that can receive the payout
| Address starts with | Type | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| bc1q | Native SegWit | Standard choice in Sparrow, Electrum and today's hardware wallets |
| bc1p | Taproot | Offered as an option in newer wallets |
| 3 | Nested SegWit or multisig | Older wallets and some exchange deposit addresses |
| 1 | Legacy | Very old wallets, paper wallets |
All four types receive BTC from this swap, so use whatever your wallet gives you. What does not work is anything from another chain: a T-address, a 0x address or a Lightning invoice. Many multi-coin apps put the Tron and Bitcoin accounts next to each other, so check that the address you copy belongs to the Bitcoin one. Using a new receive address per swap makes your Bitcoin history easier to follow and harder for others to link.
Once the BTC lands: confirmations and small payouts
When Tron has confirmed your deposit, most swaps finish within minutes. Your wallet first lists the BTC as unconfirmed; it settles once a miner puts it into a block, and Bitcoin averages one roughly every 10 minutes. The payout transaction ID on the status page opens on mempool.space if you want to watch it.
Each payout becomes one coin, or UTXO, in your Bitcoin wallet. Spending it later costs a network fee that depends on how many such coins a transaction uses, not on their value. If you swap small amounts often, you end up with many small coins that are expensive to spend together when fees are high. Fewer, larger swaps avoid that, and Sparrow lets you merge small coins while fees are low.
For savings you plan to keep, a hardware wallet is the safer home. Write the seed down on paper and keep it offline; losing it means losing the BTC.
If something goes wrong: refunds and support
The T-address you type as sender is also where a refund goes. If a swap cannot be completed, the USDT is refunded to that Tron sender address you entered, so it needs to be an address in TronLink, Trust Wallet or another wallet you control.
Sending straight from an exchange is the classic problem. Exchange withdrawals leave from a shared hot wallet, and USDT returned to it may never be matched to your account. Withdraw to your own Tron wallet first and start the swap from there.
Both halves of the swap are public, which makes checking easy. Your deposit is on Tronscan under its transaction hash, and the BTC payout is on mempool.space. If Tronscan shows the deposit as confirmed but the status page still shows no change after a long wait, get in touch at support@ghostswap.io, quoting both the swap ID and the Tron hash, and hold off on a second transfer.
Why people swap TRC20 Tether into Bitcoin
A lot of USDT lives on Tron because transfers there are cheap and fast: freelancers get paid in it, traders settle in it, and peer-to-peer deals often use it. Sooner or later some of that balance is meant for savings, and many people keep savings in Bitcoin, which has no issuer and a fixed supply.
TRC20 is also one of the cheapest ways into BTC. Sending the deposit costs little TRX compared with Ethereum gas, so more of the dollar value ends up as Bitcoin, and Tron confirms quickly enough that the rate has little time to move before the deposit counts.
You can do it without registering anywhere. If you are comparing services, our overview of no-KYC crypto exchanges explains what to look for. Keep in mind that BTC is volatile and USDT is not; check the Bitcoin price first, and swap back with BTC to USDT TRC20 if you need dollars again.
Common mistakes
- Starting the transfer with no TRX or energy in the Tron wallet, so the USDT cannot leave it.
- Sending ERC20 or BEP20 Tether from a 0x address when this deposit address takes TRC20 only.
- Treating a look-alike token in the Tron wallet as USDT without checking its contract on Tronscan.
- Copying the Tron account address from a multi-coin app into the Bitcoin payout field.
- Withdrawing from an exchange straight to the deposit address, so a refund cannot find its way back to you.
