What to send: native ETH on Ethereum mainnet

Two Ethereum habits carry over badly. On Ethereum, a fresh address can receive any amount and keep all of it spendable; on the XRP Ledger, part of every balance stays locked as the reserve. And where many exchanges give each Ethereum user a personal deposit address, XRP deposits are often one shared address told apart by tag.
The Destination Tag on your XRP payout
The swap form has a Destination Tag field for the XRP side. For Xaman, a Ledger account or any other wallet whose keys you hold, leave it empty. Fill it in only when the r-address belongs to an exchange or service that handed you a tag along with the address.
That number is how the service knows the incoming XRP is yours. Paying an exchange address without it is the classic XRP mistake: the payment arrives, the exchange can see it, yet it cannot match it to your account. You are then relying on their support to find it, and some accounts refuse untagged payments outright.
Destination Tags are digits only. If what the service gave you contains letters, you have probably opened the deposit page for a different network, so go back and choose XRP on the XRP Ledger before copying both the address and the tag.
Activating a new XRP wallet with this payout

If the swap cannot finish: refunds to your 0x address
On this pair the refund route is Ethereum. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered, which here is the 0x address in the sender field. Make it the address of your own MetaMask, Rabby or Ledger account. ETH returned to an exchange address may not be credited, because exchanges match incoming deposits to customers in their own way.
The swap ID brings up a status page with every stage on it. Follow the deposit on Etherscan by its transaction hash. Do not try to unstick a swap by depositing again, as a second transfer is a second deposit.
No bridge needed: why people move ETH into XRP

- Depositing an ERC-20 token like USDT where only mainnet ETH is accepted.
- Paying from a layer-2 such as Base, where the ETH never reaches the mainnet deposit address.
- Leaving the Destination Tag empty when the r-address belongs to an exchange.
- Expecting to spend the entire XRP balance later, when the base reserve stays locked.
- Putting an exchange address in the sender field, so an ETH refund may never be credited.
