XMR to USDT TRC20: Swap Monero to Tether on Tron, No KYC

Your wallet can only send XMR that is unlocked. Coins you received in the last 10 blocks, and the change from a payment you just made, stay locked for about 20 minutes. If Feather, Cake Wallet or Monero GUI shows a balance but refuses to send the full amount, wait until the unlocked figure matches the total.

The Monero network fee is small and is paid by your wallet on top of the amount you enter, so send the exact figure from the box. Some wallets offer a sweep or "send all" option that takes the fee out of the amount instead. That leaves the deposit slightly short of the quote, so type the amount rather than sweeping.

After you send, the deposit needs 10 Monero confirmations before the USDT goes out. Blocks come about every two minutes, so this part takes about 20 minutes. Most swaps finish within minutes once the deposit confirms. The Tron payout then confirms in about a minute.

USDT TRC20 lives on the Tron blockchain, so the payout needs a Tron address. It starts with a capital T and is 34 characters long. Copy it from TronLink or from the Tron entry in Trust Wallet.

The classic slip is in multi-chain wallets. They show several addresses side by side, and the Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain one starts with 0x. That address cannot receive TRC20 USDT. If you want USDT on Ethereum, use XMR to USDT ERC20 instead.

A deposit address from an exchange account also starts with T and can work. Check that the exchange credits TRC20 USDT at that address and does not ask for a memo. For privacy, a fresh address in your own wallet is better: every Tron transfer is public on Tronscan, and an address with no history gives an observer less to connect. A brand-new T-address with no activity is fine; the first incoming transfer activates it.

Receiving USDT TRC20 costs you nothing. Moving it again does. Every TRC20 transfer uses Tron resources called energy and bandwidth. If the wallet has none staked, Tron burns TRX from your balance to cover them. A wallet that holds only USDT and no TRX cannot send it on. Put a little TRX in the same address before you need to move the USDT, or stake TRX for energy if you transfer often.

Open the payout on Tronscan and look at the token contract. Genuine Tether on Tron uses the contract TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t. Tokens with a USDT-like name from any other contract are not Tether, and scammers send them to make an address look funded.

One property of the token itself: Tether, the issuer, can freeze USDT held at any Tron address. That is part of how USDT works on every network, and it is worth knowing before you hold a large balance in it.

Pick the network where the USDT will be used next, not the one that sounds cheapest. If a merchant or a friend asked for TRC20, this page is right. If the next stop is an Ethereum app, receiving ERC20 saves you a second conversion later. Each version is a separate token on its own chain, and USDT sent to an address on the wrong network does not arrive where you expect. The form asks for the Monero address you send from. That address is where a refund goes. If a swap cannot be completed, the XMR is refunded to the sender address you entered. Use an address from a wallet whose seed you hold, so the coins come back to you and not to an exchange account that may never credit them.

Each swap gets an ID and a status page that shows the deposit, the confirmations and the payout. A Monero deposit is not visible on a public explorer the way a Tron transfer is, so the status page and your own wallet are the places to check. Your wallet keeps the transaction ID and, in most wallets, a transaction key that proves the payment.

Monero keeps balances private, but its price moves. Swapping to USDT turns an XMR amount into a dollar-pegged one, for example before paying an invoice, settling a peer-to-peer trade or setting money aside for a few weeks. TRC20 is the version of USDT that many traders and merchants ask for, because Tron transfers confirm in about a minute and moving the token is cheap when the wallet has TRX or energy.

Fewer exchanges list Monero than a few years ago, so a swap from your own wallet is one of the simpler routes from XMR into a stablecoin. There is no account and no ID step, and the payout goes straight to your Tron address.

Be clear about what changes when you do it. Your Monero history stays private, but the USDT you receive sits on a public ledger where anyone can read its balance. Many people keep their savings in XMR and only swap the amount they are about to spend. If you later want to return to Monero, USDT TRC20 to XMR does the reverse.
