PEPE to BTC: Swap Pepe (ERC-20) to Bitcoin With No KYC

PEPE is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Each send is a call to the token's contract, a call the network prices in ETH. The PEPE balance itself cannot pay the fee, so a wallet holding only PEPE will refuse to send. Keep a little ETH in the same wallet in MetaMask, Rabby or a Ledger before you start.

What gas costs is set by network traffic, not by the token count. A transfer of a few million PEPE costs about the same as a transfer of a few billion. On a small swap, that fixed cost takes a bigger share, so it is worth checking current gas before you send.

Only PEPE on Ethereum mainnet is accepted here. PEPE bridged onto some other network is a separate token there, and this deposit address will not credit it. Its transaction hash on Etherscan shows when the deposit lands.

PEPE has a very large supply, so balances run into millions or billions of tokens while the BTC you receive has many decimal places. Both make typing mistakes easy. A missing zero sends a tenth of what you meant; an extra one tries to send ten times as much.

Type the amount into the box first and let it show the BTC you will get. Then copy that exact PEPE figure into your wallet's send form rather than retyping it, and compare the two before you confirm. Most wallets group digits with commas or spaces, which makes the count easier to check.

Avoid the Max button unless you want to swap your whole balance. With ERC-20 tokens it sends every token you hold, and the amount must still match the quote you created. Sending exactly what the box shows is the simplest way to keep the deposit and the quote in step.

Anyone can create an Ethereum token named PEPE, and many copies exist. They can use the same name, symbol and logo, but not the same contract address. Before you swap, open the token in your wallet or on Etherscan and check that its contract matches the one listed by the project's official channels and major token trackers.

Tokens that appear in your wallet without you getting them on purpose are a common sign of a copy. They are often sent out in bulk to tempt people into interacting with a malicious contract. Do not approve anything for them, and do not try to swap them.

This swap needs no approval at all: you simply send PEPE to the deposit address. If a website or pop-up asks you to approve a PEPE spending allowance in order to swap, close it. A plain transfer is the only step required.

BTC is paid on the Bitcoin blockchain, so you need a Bitcoin address: one that starts with bc1, 3 or 1. Sparrow, Electrum and hardware wallets all provide one under Receive. Your 0x address cannot hold bitcoin, and a Lightning invoice cannot receive this payout either.

Once the PEPE deposit confirms, most swaps finish within minutes. The payout appears in your Bitcoin wallet as unconfirmed, then confirms with the next blocks, which Bitcoin adds about every 10 minutes on average. To spend the BTC later you pay fees in BTC, so you do not need ETH or any other coin in your Bitcoin wallet.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. For this pair, PEPE travels back over Ethereum to whichever 0x address you typed as sender. Use the address of a wallet you control. Tokens withdrawn from an exchange come out of a shared address, and tokens returned to it can easily go missing from your balance.

Track progress with the swap ID: its status page updates as the deposit, the exchange and the BTC payout happen. Save the ID and the Ethereum transaction hash from your wallet.

Once Etherscan reports the PEPE transfer as successful, a status page frozen for an unusually long time is a reason to email both references to support@ghostswap.io. If you sent a look-alike token or used the wrong network, say so in the same message, and do not send more tokens to try to fix it.

PEPE is a meme token. It has no built-in use beyond being held and traded, and its price can move sharply in either direction. Holders who want to step out of that kind of exposure often swap some or all of it into BTC, the coin with the longest track record and the widest acceptance.

Others swap because they want their funds on a different chain. A PEPE balance sits at a public 0x address alongside the rest of that wallet's history, and moving it to a new Bitcoin address separates the two, at least on the surface. Bitcoin is public too, so a fresh receive address is a good habit.
