Swap taking longer than expected? Here's what's happening
Short answer: almost every GhostSwap swap finishes in minutes, with no account, no email and no KYC. When one takes longer, it's nearly always because of confirmations, a missing memo or a wrong network. Your swap stays visible on its status page the whole time, and a delayed swap isn't a lost swap. Every deposit is tied to its swap ID, and support stays with any open case until it's closed.
Check your swap first
- Open your status page:
ghostswap.io/txs/?id=YOUR_SWAP_ID. It shows whether your deposit has been seen, how many confirmations it has and what's happening now. - Don't send the deposit again. A second deposit doesn't speed anything up, and it creates a second thing to sort out.
- Look up your deposit transaction in a block explorer for the coin you sent. If it isn't confirmed on-chain yet, the swap can't start.
Why a swap can be slower: the usual reasons
| What you see | Why it happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Waiting for deposit" or "Confirming" for a while | The deposit chain needs confirmations before the swap runs. Bitcoin usually takes about 20–60 minutes; Solana and Tron about 5–15. Busy networks and low fees take longer. | Nothing. It continues on its own once the confirmations arrive. |
| Deposit sent but not detected (coins that use a memo or tag, such as XRP, XLM or EOS) | The memo or destination tag was missing or typed in the wrong field, so the deposit can't be matched to your swap automatically. | Contact support with your swap ID and the deposit transaction hash. Support matches it by hand. |
| Sent on the wrong network (for example, USDT on Tron sent to an Ethereum address) | The deposit arrived on a chain the swap wasn't expecting. | Contact support with your swap ID and transaction hash. Some of these can be recovered, and support will tell you. |
| Amount below the minimum or above the maximum | The quote was for a different range. | Support can usually complete the swap at an updated quote or refund the deposit. |
| Received amount slightly different from the quote | GhostSwap uses floating rates. If confirmations take a long time, the final amount is set when the swap runs. | Nothing. The fee is already included in the quote. |
| No progress for hours after your deposit confirmed (rare) | A very small number of deposits are paused for review before the swap runs. See below. | Contact support with your swap ID. |
If your deposit is paused for review (rare)
Very rarely, an automatic check on an incoming deposit pauses a swap before it runs. This isn't part of normal swapping, and nothing you did on GhostSwap triggers it. There's no account to verify, and almost no swap ever reaches this step.
If it happens to yours:
- Your deposit is accounted for. It's tied to your swap ID and stays visible on your status page.
- Contact support at support@ghostswap.io or in the live chat. Send your swap ID, the deposit transaction hash and an address you control for a refund.
- Support tells you exactly what's needed to finish the review. Usually that means confirming where the deposit came from. In exceptional cases, where it's needed to release the funds, it can include verifying your identity. This is never part of a normal swap.
- The case ends in one of two ways. Either the swap completes and the coins go to your address, or the deposit is returned to an address you control, whenever the review allows a return.
- You get a case number, and support keeps you updated until the case is closed.
How to avoid delays
- Copy the deposit address and the memo or tag exactly, and send on the network shown.
- Send from a wallet you control, not straight from another exchange's withdrawal queue.
- Send with a normal network fee, so confirmations arrive quickly.
- For a large amount, send a small test swap first.

FAQ
Does GhostSwap require KYC?
No. GhostSwap is a no-KYC crypto exchange: there's no account, and we never ask for your name, email, phone number or identity documents to start a swap.
Are my funds lost if my swap is taking long?
No. GhostSwap is non-custodial, and every deposit is tied to its swap ID. Nearly every delay is confirmations or a missing memo. Check your status page, and contact support with your swap ID if it's taking longer than expected.
Are my funds frozen?
Almost certainly not. A slow swap is nearly always waiting for confirmations or missing a memo. If support tells you your deposit is under review, they'll also tell you what's needed to finish it.
How long do refunds take?
Simple refunds (wrong amount, missing memo) are sent once support confirms your refund address. Refunds after a review are sent once the review allows it.
Should I send my deposit again?
No. Contact support with your swap ID instead.
