ADA to USDT ERC20: Swap Cardano to Tether on Ethereum, No KYC

Current Cardano wallets such as Eternl, Lace and VESPR give you addresses that start with addr1. Copy the one you will send from into the sender field; it is also where a refund would go. A Ledger or Trezor connected through one of those wallets works the same way.

The Cardano network fee is paid in ADA by your wallet and added on top of the amount you send. It depends on the size of the transaction in bytes, not on how much ADA moves, so it is small and predictable. Your wallet shows the exact figure before you sign.

Cardano adds a block about every 20 seconds, and the deposit is usually confirmed within a few minutes. Once it is, most swaps finish within minutes, and the USDT then confirms on Ethereum in about 2 to 5 minutes. You can follow the ADA side on Cardanoscan with the transaction hash from your wallet.

A Cardano wallet can hold more than ADA. Native assets, the tokens and NFTs issued on Cardano, sit at the same addr1 address and travel inside normal Cardano transactions. That includes Cardano-native stablecoins, which are separate tokens and not Tether USDT.

The deposit address for this swap accepts ADA only. Tokens sent to it cannot be credited to the swap. Before you sign, open the transaction details in your wallet and check that the only asset leaving is ADA.

Be careful with "send max" or "send all" options. Some wallets keep your tokens back, while others try to move everything in the address, tokens included. Type the exact ADA amount from the box instead.

One more Cardano rule explains small oddities in the fee preview: every output that carries tokens also has to carry a minimum amount of ADA. If your address holds tokens, the wallet keeps a little ADA beside them in the change, so your spendable ADA is a bit lower than the total balance.

Delegating ADA to a stake pool does not lock it. Delegation belongs to your stake key, not to individual coins, so you can send ADA from a delegated wallet at any time. The ADA you keep stays delegated and keeps earning; the amount you swap simply stops counting toward your stake from the next snapshot.

Staking rewards are kept in a separate reward account linked to your stake key. They are not part of your address balance and cannot be sent straight to the deposit address. If you want to include them in the swap, withdraw them in your wallet first, wait for that transaction to confirm, and then send the total.

If you use a hardware wallet through Eternl or Lace, confirm the amount and the deposit address on the device itself, not only in the browser. That check takes seconds and catches a tampered address.

An addr1 address cannot hold Ethereum tokens, so the USDT needs an Ethereum wallet: MetaMask, Rabby or the Ethereum account on a Ledger. Its address is 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters. Paste it and compare both ends after pasting.

What you receive is Tether on the Ethereum chain, held at that 0x address. Receiving it is free. Sending it on later costs gas in ETH, which the USDT cannot pay. A new wallet that holds only USDT is stuck until you add a little ETH, so plan for that if this is a fresh address.

If the balance does not appear in MetaMask, add the Tether token by its contract, 0xdAC17F958D2ee523a2206206994597C13D831ec7. Tokens with a USDT-like name from other contracts are not Tether. The issuer, Tether, can freeze USDT held at any address; that is a feature of the token itself, on every network it runs on, so weigh it before holding large amounts.

All four rows pay Tether, but each one is a separate token on its own chain. Pick the network where the USDT will be spent or held. ERC20 suits Ethereum apps and larger balances; TRC20 is the usual choice for frequent small transfers. If you would rather hold USD Coin, ADA to USDC is a separate pair. Whichever you choose, the ADA side of the swap is the same: plain ADA from your addr1 address to the deposit address.

If a swap cannot be completed, the ADA is refunded to the sender address you entered. Use the addr1 address of your own wallet, not a withdrawal address from an exchange, so the refund reaches you. Each swap has an ID and a status page; if it stops moving long after Cardanoscan shows your deposit as confirmed, email support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the transaction hash.

Most people make this swap to move part of a Cardano holding into a dollar-pegged token without first sending it to an exchange account. It locks in a value before a bill or a trip, or after ADA has risen. Others need ERC-20 USDT specifically, for an Ethereum app or an invoice priced in it.

You never sign up or show ID, and the Tether goes directly to the 0x address you chose. To return to Cardano later, use USDT ERC20 to ADA.
