An instant crypto exchange swaps one cryptocurrency for another in a single order. You pick two coins, paste the address that should receive the new coin and send your deposit. The swapped coins are paid straight to your own wallet. GhostSwap works this way for 1,600+ coins, with no account, no sign-up and no ID.

  • No account: no email, no password, no sign-up.
  • 1,600+ coins across networks, including BTC, ETH, USDT, SOL, XMR and ZEC.
  • See the amount before you send: the exchange box shows what you receive, with fees included.
  • Floating rate on every pair; fixed rate on Private Send.
  • Paid to your own wallet: there is no balance to withdraw.

What is an instant crypto exchange?

An instant crypto exchange (also called an instant swap service or a crypto-to-crypto exchange) converts one coin into another in one step. There is no order book to trade on, no account balance to fund and no cash step in the middle. You send coin A and receive coin B at the address you choose. New to swapping? Start with what a crypto swap is.

The rate comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets, and the quote you see already includes the fees. “Instant” describes the process, not a stopwatch: you don’t deposit, place an order, wait for a match and then withdraw. The swap starts as soon as your deposit is confirmed, and the time that takes is set by the blockchain networks involved (see how long a swap takes).

Instant exchange vs a regular exchange vs a DEX

All four routes below can turn one coin into another. They differ in what you have to hand over, who holds your coins while the trade happens, and which coins you can reach.

Instant exchange (GhostSwap) Centralized exchange DEX P2P market
Account needed No Yes No, but you connect a wallet Usually a trading profile
Identity documents Not asked to start a swap Usually required No Depends on the market
Where your coins sit during the trade Sent for one swap, then paid to your wallet In your exchange account until you withdraw In your wallet, via a smart contract In escrow or with the other trader
How the price is set Quoted rate for the pair Order book Liquidity pool Each seller’s offer
Different blockchains (e.g. BTC to XMR) Yes, in one swap Yes, inside the account Mostly same chain; bridges for others Yes, but slower
Monero and Zcash Yes Often delisted (see the delistings tracker) Rarely Yes, on some markets
Best for Quick swaps between chains with no sign-up Active trading and fiat cash-out Tokens on one chain Trading with cash or bank transfer

When an instant exchange is the right choice

An instant exchange is built for one job: turning the coin you have into the coin you need, straight from your own wallet. It fits best when you are:

  • Moving between blockchains, for example BTC to SOL or ETH to XMR, without opening an exchange account or using a bridge.
  • Getting a coin your exchange doesn’t list, such as Monero.
  • Rebalancing from a self-custody wallet without depositing to an exchange and withdrawing again.
  • Paying someone in BTC or USDT without showing them your wallet, with Private Send.

It is not the best tool for everything. To cash out to a bank account you need an exchange or P2P market with bank withdrawals. For frequent trading with limit orders, an order-book exchange fits better. For a small swap between two tokens on the same chain, a DEX can cost less.

How to swap crypto on GhostSwap: 4 steps

  1. Pick the pair and the amount. Choose the coin you send and the coin you want. The exchange box shows the estimated amount you receive, plus the minimum and maximum for that pair.
  2. Paste your receiving address. Copy it from your own wallet and check the first and last characters. If the coin uses a memo or destination tag, add it too.
  3. Send the deposit. Send the exact amount to the deposit address shown, on the network shown. You don’t connect a wallet or sign anything on our site.
  4. Track it and receive your coins. Keep your swap ID. The status page shows each step, and the new coins are sent to your address once your deposit is confirmed.

How long does an instant swap take?

Most of the wait is the network confirming your deposit, then the payout reaching your wallet. GhostSwap can’t make a blockchain confirm faster, so the coin you send matters most. Typical network confirmation times:

  • Seconds to a few minutes: Solana, Tron, XRP, Litecoin, and USDT or USDC on Tron or Solana.
  • A few minutes: Ether and tokens on Ethereum. A busy network or a low gas fee slows this down.
  • Often 10 to 30 minutes or more: Bitcoin, depending on the fee you paid and how busy the network is. Monero deposits also need several confirmations.

These are network figures, not a promise. To keep a swap quick, send with a normal or higher network fee, use the network the deposit address asks for, and keep the status page open. If something takes longer than expected, read what to do if your swap is delayed.

Fixed rate vs floating rate

Floating rate (every pair in the main exchange box): the rate follows the market until your deposit is confirmed, so the final amount can move a little up or down from the estimate.

Fixed rate (Private Send): the amount is locked when you create the payment, as long as you send the deposit within the time shown. It suits payments where the other side must receive an exact amount.

What an instant swap costs

On GhostSwap the fee is built into the quote. The amount shown in the exchange box is what you receive, including the network fee for the payout, so there is nothing to add at the end. Your own wallet charges its usual network fee to send the deposit.

When you compare services, compare the amount you receive for the same deposit, not the fee label. A “0% fee” offer can still give you less if the rate is worse. Our swap fees comparison shows how the main services price a swap.

Each pair page has the live rate, the networks supported and the limits for that pair.

See all swap pairs.

Swapping Monero and Zcash on an instant exchange

Many large exchanges have removed Monero, so instant swap services are one of the main ways people swap it today. On GhostSwap you can swap to and from XMR and ZEC like any other coin, with no account. Start from the Monero exchange or the Zcash exchange page, and follow an XMR payout in our Monero explorer.

Using an instant exchange safely

  • Check the website address. Lookalike domains copy swap sites, so check that the address bar says ghostswap.io before you send.
  • Check the receiving address before you confirm: paste it, then compare the first and last characters with your wallet.
  • Use the right network. USDT on Tron (TRC-20) and USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) are different deposits. Send only on the network the deposit address shows.
  • Stay inside the limits. Deposits below the pair’s minimum can’t be swapped.
  • Start small the first time you use any swap service.
  • Keep your swap ID and your deposit transaction hash. Support needs both.
  • Never share your seed phrase. GhostSwap never asks for it, and no swap needs it.

Instant crypto exchange FAQ

What is an instant crypto exchange?

It is a service that swaps one cryptocurrency for another in a single order. You choose two coins, send the deposit and receive the new coin at your own address, without an order book, an account balance or a cash step.

Do I need an account or KYC to use an instant exchange?

Not on GhostSwap. GhostSwap is a no-KYC crypto exchange: there’s no account, and we never ask for your name, email, phone number or identity documents to start a swap.

How long does an instant crypto swap take?

It depends on the networks. The swap starts once your deposit is confirmed: Solana, Tron, XRP and Litecoin usually confirm in seconds to a few minutes, Ethereum in a few minutes, and Bitcoin often in 10 to 30 minutes or more.

What is the difference between an instant exchange and a regular crypto exchange?

A regular exchange holds your coins in an account and matches your order on an order book, and it usually asks for ID. An instant exchange takes one deposit for one swap and pays the new coin straight to your wallet, with no account.

What is the difference between a fixed and a floating rate?

A floating rate follows the market until your deposit is confirmed, so the final amount can move slightly. A fixed rate locks the amount when you create the order. On GhostSwap, swaps use a floating rate and Private Send uses a fixed rate.

What fees does an instant swap have?

On GhostSwap the fee is included in the quote, and the amount shown in the exchange box already includes the payout network fee. You only pay your own wallet’s network fee to send the deposit.

Is there a minimum or maximum amount?

Yes. Limits depend on the pair and on network conditions, and the exchange box shows the exact minimum and maximum before you send.

What happens if a swap fails?

If a swap can’t be completed, the coins you sent are refunded. Email support@ghostswap.io with your swap ID if you need help.

What if I send the wrong coin or use the wrong network?

Email support@ghostswap.io with your swap ID and the transaction hash. Whether coins sent on the wrong network can be recovered depends on the coin and the network, so check the network before you send.

Can I swap Monero and Zcash on an instant exchange?

Yes. GhostSwap swaps XMR and ZEC to and from BTC, ETH, USDT, LTC and many other coins, with no account.

Is GhostSwap a DEX?

No. A DEX asks you to connect a wallet and trade through a smart contract, usually on one chain. GhostSwap is an instant swap service: you send a deposit from any wallet, and the new coin is paid to the address you give, across different blockchains.
