WIF to USDT ERC20: Swap dogwifhat on Solana for Tether on Ethereum
To swap WIF to USDT ERC20, enter the amount, give the Ethereum 0x address that will hold the Tether plus the Solana wallet address the WIF comes from, then transfer the WIF to the one-time deposit address. Nothing asks for an account or ID, and the USDT is paid on Ethereum after Solana confirms your WIF deposit, which takes under a minute.

How much USDT do you get for WIF?

The rate floats with the market until your WIF deposit confirms.
Taking a meme coin position off the table
dogwifhat, WIF, is a meme token on Solana, and its price can swing hard within a day. Swapping it into Tether turns that exposure into a dollar balance. This page sends the dollars to Ethereum as ERC-20 USDT, which is a deliberate choice: it means leaving Solana as well as leaving WIF.
That suits people whose dollars are meant to end up on Ethereum: a Ledger or MetaMask account they treat as long-term storage, an Ethereum app that only takes ERC-20 Tether, or someone who asked to be paid on that network. If you would rather keep the USDT next to your other Solana tokens, WIF to USDT SOL keeps everything on one chain with SOL fees.
Because WIF is volatile, the quote matters. It is drawn from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and moves with WIF until your deposit is confirmed. The box shows the USDT you will receive after fees before you send anything.
Sending WIF from Phantom or Solflare
WIF is an SPL token, so your deposit is a Solana token transfer from Phantom, Solflare or a Ledger set up for Solana. The network fee is charged in SOL, not in WIF. A wallet holding only WIF cannot send it; keep a small amount of SOL there.
Meme tokens attract copies with the same name and logo. Make sure the WIF in your wallet is the real dogwifhat token by checking it on Solscan before you swap, because a look-alike token sent to the deposit address will not be credited.
Use your wallet's main Solana address in the sender field. Solana addresses run 32 to 44 characters and never begin with 0x; this one also receives any refund. Do not enter an exchange account or a token account copied from an explorer. The deposit is final on Solana within a minute. From that point, most swaps finish within minutes.
The Ethereum address that gets the Tether
Your Tether is sent to a 0x address of 40 hexadecimal characters on Ethereum. You get one from MetaMask, from Rabby, or from a Ledger running its Ethereum app. Phantom also offers an Ethereum account in some versions; if you use it, copy the 0x address from that account, not the Solana one.
A Solana address in the payout field will be refused, since the formats are completely different. The real risk is a valid 0x address that is not yours, or the USDT contract address copied from a token list. Neither can be undone, so copy your own address and compare it before you confirm.
When the payout leaves, you can see it on Etherscan, usually within about 2 to 5 minutes. If the wallet shows nothing, add USDT to its token list. Tether, as the issuer, is able to freeze USDT held at an address; that applies to the token itself.
ETH to move the USDT later
Receiving ERC-20 USDT is free for you, because the payout fee is in the quote. Every move after that is charged in ETH: sending it on, approving an app, depositing it somewhere. A new Ethereum address that only holds the USDT cannot do any of those.
If you have no ETH yet, a small extra swap such as WIF to ETH to the same 0x address gives you gas for later. Ethereum gas is usually higher than Solana fees and changes with demand, so it pays to move larger, rounder amounts rather than many small ones.
If lower fees matter more than being on Ethereum, other Tether networks exist from WIF too, such as WIF to USDT TRC20. Pick by where the dollars have to go, not by habit.
WIF on Solana vs USDT on Ethereum
| WIF (you send) | USDT ERC20 (you get) | |
|---|---|---|
| Asset | dogwifhat meme token | Tether dollar stablecoin |
| Standard | SPL token on Solana | ERC-20 token on Ethereum |
| Wallets | Phantom, Solflare or a Solana Ledger | MetaMask, Rabby or an Ethereum Ledger |
| Address look | Letters and numbers, never 0x | Starts with 0x |
| Gas paid in | SOL | ETH |
| Block explorer | Solscan | Etherscan |
| Time to confirm | Under a minute | Roughly 2 to 5 minutes |
Everything changes in this swap: asset, chain, address format and fee coin. That is why the payout address deserves a second look. For background on the token itself, read our WIF outlook, and Solana vs Ethereum compares the two networks.
Failed swaps and refunds
If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. On this page the refund is WIF, on Solana, at whatever address sits in your sender field, so that field needs a wallet whose keys you hold.
The status page shows a swap ID. Your WIF deposit has a Solana transaction signature you can look up on Solscan, and the USDT payout gets an Ethereum hash once it leaves. When Solscan lists the deposit as finalized but the status page stays still for a long time, mail the swap ID and that signature to support@ghostswap.io. Sending extra WIF for the same swap will not speed it up.
Since WIF's value keeps moving, a refund returns WIF, not dollars, so the amount you get back is in WIF terms.
Common mistakes
- Trying to send WIF from a Solana wallet that has no SOL for the network fee.
- Swapping a look-alike token named WIF instead of the real dogwifhat SPL token.
- Pasting the Solana address, or the USDT contract address, into the Ethereum payout field.
- Receiving ERC-20 USDT on a new address with no ETH to send it later.
- Choosing Ethereum USDT when the dollars were meant to stay on Solana.

How to Exchange dogwifhat to Tether (ERC20)
Select WIF and USDT
Pick WIF in “You send” and USDT in “You get”, then enter the amount.
Enter Tether (ERC20) Address
Paste the Ethereum address that should receive the USDT. Sending USDT to an address on another network can lose the coins. Then enter the Solana address you send WIF from; a refund, if ever needed, goes there.
Send dogwifhat
Send exactly the amount shown from your own Solana wallet to the one-time deposit address. Keep a little SOL in that wallet for the network fee.
Receive Tether (ERC20)
Your USDT arrives on Ethereum. Follow each step on the status page with your swap ID.
