XRP to XLM: Swap XRP to Stellar Lumens With No KYC

Send from an XRP Ledger wallet you control, such as Xaman or a Ledger, and enter its r address as the sender address. Look at the deposit details before you pay. If they show a Destination Tag, put it in the tag field of your wallet exactly as shown, because it is how the deposit is matched to your swap.

You cannot send every last XRP. Each XRP Ledger account keeps a base reserve, 1 XRP since December 2024, plus a little more for each trust line or other object it holds. Your wallet shows the spendable part; send no more than that, plus room for the network fee, which is tiny and paid in XRP.

The XRP Ledger closes a new ledger every few seconds, so the deposit confirms almost at once. You can look it up on XRPSCAN. Once the deposit is in, most swaps finish within minutes.

A Stellar address starts with G and is 56 characters long. Copy it from Lobstr or Freighter and paste it in full; a single wrong character makes it a different account.

The Memo field matters only for shared addresses. Exchanges often receive all customer XLM at one G address and tell deposits apart by a Memo, which may be a number (a Memo ID) or a short text. If your XLM is going to an exchange account, copy its Memo into the field exactly, or the coins may reach the exchange without being credited to you. A personal wallet such as Lobstr or Freighter needs no Memo, so leave the field empty.

Like the XRP Ledger, Stellar only creates an account once it holds a minimum balance in XLM. The base minimum is 1 XLM, and it rises by half an XLM for each trustline, offer or other entry the account adds. A normal swap payout covers it, so a brand-new address from Lobstr or Freighter works as the receiving address.

That minimum stays in the account and cannot be sent while the account exists. If you later add trustlines to hold Stellar tokens such as USDC, your wallet will reserve a little more XLM for each one.

So for both coins in this swap, a small part of every balance is set aside by the network itself. It is not a fee; it is how these two ledgers keep spam accounts down.

The two coins share a history: Stellar was started by Jed McCaleb, a co-founder of Ripple, and both aim at fast, cheap payments. They are still separate ledgers, so XRP cannot be sent to a G address. XLM vs XRP compares them in depth. In practice, the main thing that changes for you is the wallet: Xaman for XRP, Lobstr or Freighter for XLM. People often swap between them to rebalance between two payment coins, or because a service they use accepts only one. Each ledger settles a payment in a few seconds.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. Here that is your r address, so use your own wallet's address. An exchange's shared XRP address is a poor choice, because a refund without its tag may not be credited to you.

The status page follows your swap by its ID. If the deposit shows on XRPSCAN and the status has not moved for a long while, email support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the XRP transaction hash, and wait rather than sending again.

To go the other way, XLM to XRP takes Lumens from your G address and pays XRP to your r address, with a Destination Tag only if an exchange account needs one.
