XRP to USDT TRC20: Swap XRP to Tether on Tron With No KYC

XRP accounts are often shared, so the XRP Ledger uses a number called a Destination Tag to say which customer a payment belongs to. When your swap is created, look at the deposit details. If they show a Destination Tag, copy it into your wallet's tag or memo field exactly as given, digit for digit. If they show none, send without one.

Getting it wrong has two outcomes. Where the deposit account requires a tag, the XRP Ledger rejects a payment without one, and all that leaves your wallet is the tiny network fee. Where it does not, the XRP may arrive but not be matched to your swap. In that case email [email protected] with the transaction hash so it can be traced.

Xaman and Ledger Live both offer a tag field when you set the recipient. Check the field after pasting, before you sign.

An XRP account must keep a base reserve, 1 XRP since December 2024, that it cannot send. Wallets usually show a spendable balance that already leaves it out. If you try to swap your entire balance, the payment fails, so enter a slightly smaller amount. The ledger fee itself is a tiny fraction of an XRP.

Your r-address also serves as the refund address. Give the r-address of a wallet you control, not an exchange's shared deposit address. XRP sent back to a shared exchange address without your tag is very hard to recover. X-addresses, which start with X and pack the tag into the address, are not what the sender field expects; use the classic r-form.

The XRP Ledger confirms in a few seconds. The rate comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and floats until that point, and after it most swaps finish within minutes.

The USDT is paid to a Tron address: a capital T followed by 33 more characters, taken from TronLink or Trust Wallet. Tron payouts need no tag or memo, so the only thing to get right is the address itself. An 0x address belongs to Ethereum or BNB Chain and cannot take TRC20 Tether.

The payout settles on Tron in roughly a minute. To move the USDT on later, the account needs energy and bandwidth, which in practice means holding some TRX. A fresh address with no TRX will show the Tether but cannot send it, a surprise for many people coming from XRP, where the fee is paid in the same coin you send.

Like all USDT, the TRC20 version can be frozen by Tether, its issuer. XRP itself has no freeze switch on your account.

Many searches ask for XRP to USDT on BSC, and the BEP20 version is right if your next step is a BNB Chain app or wallet. Two things make the final figure differ from a chart price. The rate floats with the market until your XRP deposit is confirmed, which on the XRP Ledger is quick, so the gap is usually small. And the quote already allows for the cost of sending the USDT on Tron. The only fee outside it is the ledger fee your wallet adds, a fraction of a cent in XRP. Your swap ID opens a status page for deposit, exchange and payout. The XRP payment is visible on XRPSCAN by its hash or your r-address, and the Tether shows on Tronscan once sent.

If a swap cannot be completed, the XRP is refunded to the r-address you entered as the sender. If XRPSCAN shows your payment validated but the status page has not changed for a long time, email [email protected] with the swap ID, the transaction hash and, if you used one, the Destination Tag. Do not resend the XRP while the first payment is being checked; a second payment just creates a second thing to trace.

A support request goes faster with the full picture: the swap ID, the time you sent, the amount, and whether the wallet showed any error. You never need to give a name or an email account beyond the one you write from, and nothing about the swap asks for ID afterwards either.
