How much BNB do you get for BTC?
GhostSwap quotes at 2 Nov 2026, 16:04 UTC, after the service fee and the cost of sending the BNB to your wallet.
The rate floats with the market until your BTC deposit confirms.
The Bitcoin deposit: confirmations, fee and the floating rate
Your BTC deposit needs one to three Bitcoin blocks before the BNB is sent. Bitcoin averages one block per 10 minutes, so this is where almost all of the wait sits; BNB Smart Chain confirms the payout in under a minute. Once the deposit confirms, most swaps finish within minutes.
The fee rate you choose decides how quickly miners pick up the deposit. That matters for price as well as time. The rate floats with the market until your deposit confirms, so a deposit that waits hours because of a low fee is priced at the rate when it finally confirms, not the one you saw when you sent it. Picking a fee that clears in the next few blocks keeps the two close.
If you send from a hardware wallet, compare the deposit address on the device display with the one on the swap page before you approve. Malware that swaps a copied address can change the computer side, but not what the device shows you. Use a wallet you control, so the sender address you enter is yours.
Your BNB Smart Chain address: same 0x, different network
The BNB is paid on BNB Smart Chain to a 0x address: 0x and then 40 hexadecimal characters. That is exactly the format Ethereum uses, and in most wallets it is literally the same address. Trust Wallet, MetaMask and Rabby all work. The address is not the problem; the network is.
Balances are kept per network. If MetaMask is set to Ethereum when the payout arrives, it shows nothing, even though the BNB is sitting at your address on BNB Smart Chain. Add BNB Smart Chain to the wallet, switch to it, and the balance appears. Trust Wallet and Rabby list it by default.
To check without the wallet, paste your address into BscScan, not Etherscan. BscScan shows the incoming BNB and its block. The old BNB Beacon Chain, with addresses starting with bnb1, has been shut down, so a 0x address on BNB Smart Chain is the only kind that can receive this payout.
BEP-20 or ERC-20: the same address, two networks
| BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20) | Ethereum (ERC-20) | |
|---|---|---|
| Address | 0x plus 40 hex characters | 0x plus 40 hex characters |
| Gas coin | BNB | ETH |
| Confirmation | Under a minute | About 2 to 5 minutes |
| Explorer | BscScan | Etherscan |
| Bitcoin pair | This page | BTC to ETH |
Because the addresses match, the box cannot tell which network you meant. Picking the pair is what decides it. This page pays BNB on BNB Smart Chain. If what you really want is ETH on Ethereum, use the BTC to ETH pair, and if you want a dollar balance on BSC, BTC to USDT BEP20 pays Tether as a BEP-20 token. Many wallets add BNB Smart Chain in one click, and BscScan works much like Etherscan, so once the network is set the payout is easy to find.
After the BNB arrives: gas for BEP-20 tokens
You don't need BNB in the wallet first. Receiving is free, and a new address can get the payout straight away. From then on, the BNB you hold is what pays gas on BNB Smart Chain, for sending it, for approving tokens and for any app you use.
That makes BNB useful even in small amounts. BEP-20 tokens such as USDT on BSC cannot move without BNB to cover the fee, so many people swap a little BTC to BNB just to unlock tokens they already hold. If you plan to swap the BNB onward, hold some back for gas.
Gas on BNB Smart Chain is usually far cheaper than on Ethereum mainnet, but it is still paid on every transaction. Wallets estimate it before you approve. If a transfer later fails with an "insufficient funds for gas" message, the fix is to top up BNB, not the token.
Refunds and support
Two addresses go into the swap: the 0x address for the BNB and the Bitcoin address the BTC comes from. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. That is why the Bitcoin address must belong to a wallet you can open. A refund to an exchange withdrawal address may never show up in your account.
The swap ID and the Bitcoin transaction ID are all support needs. Follow the deposit on mempool.space, and the payout on BscScan once it is sent. Once the deposit has its confirmations, a status that stays the same for a long time is worth a message to support@ghostswap.io with both IDs. Don't pay a second deposit to the same address while you wait.
Why people swap Bitcoin to BNB
The most practical reason is gas. BNB Smart Chain is home to a large set of tokens and apps with low fees, and every one of them needs BNB to pay for transactions. Holding BTC and nothing on BSC means you can't move a single token there; a small BTC to BNB swap fixes that.
Some users want BNB as a holding in its own right, or want cheaper transfers than Bitcoin and Ethereum mainnet offer for everyday amounts. Others are moving funds toward an app on BNB Smart Chain and want to arrive with the gas coin rather than a token.
Prices track aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets, and the box shows the BNB after fees. Wallet tips for MetaMask, including adding networks, are in how to use MetaMask for swaps.
Common mistakes
- Checking the wallet on Ethereum and thinking the BNB never arrived, when it is on BNB Smart Chain.
- Looking up the payout on Etherscan instead of BscScan.
- Using this pair when you actually wanted ETH or USDT, which have their own pairs.
- Paying the deposit straight from an exchange, then listing that exchange's address as your sender address for refunds.
- Swapping all the BNB into BEP-20 tokens and leaving none to pay gas.
