USDC ERC20 to USDC SOL: Move USD Coin From Ethereum to Solana, No KYC

Nothing about the asset changes here. You send USD Coin on Ethereum and receive USD Coin on Solana, both issued by Circle. What changes is the chain, the address format and the coin that pays your fees from now on: ETH before, SOL after.

People make this move for practical reasons. A Solana app, game or payment tool wants USDC on Solana. Someone is tired of paying Ethereum gas on every transfer and wants cheaper everyday moves. Or the dollars were earned on Ethereum while the rest of their activity lives in Phantom.

Because both sides are the same token, the quote stays close to one to one. The gap is the service fee and the Solana payout cost, both already deducted from the amount the box shows. The rate comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and floats with the market until the deposit confirms.

Search engines call this bridging, and the result looks similar, but it works differently. A bridge locks your token on one chain and issues a wrapped copy on the other, which carries its own ticker and its own risks. Here, you send USDC on Ethereum and receive USDC on Solana from separate liquidity, so nothing is wrapped.

That matters on Solana, where bridged versions of USDC have existed alongside Circle's own. The payout on this page is Circle's SPL mint, EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v, the one wallets and apps list simply as USDC. If a token in your wallet shows a different mint, it came from somewhere else.

The deposit is an ordinary ERC-20 send of USDC, contract 0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19D4a2e9Eb0cE3606eB48. Ethereum takes gas for it in ETH from the same address, so the wallet needs both tokens. If your ETH runs out, the USDC is stuck on that address until you add some.

Many wallets show USDC on several networks under one 0x address. Before signing, check that MetaMask, Rabby or Ledger Live is set to Ethereum and not a layer-2. Expect about 2 to 5 minutes of Ethereum confirmations for the deposit.

Ethereum gas is usually higher than a Solana fee, which is why many people keep spending money on Solana and park larger balances wherever their tools are. Circle can freeze USDC at a specific address on either chain; that is a feature of the token, not of the network, so moving chains does not change it. Paste the main address from Phantom, Solflare or a Ledger running the Solana app. A wallet like Phantom shows an Ethereum address too, and pasting that one here is the classic slip. The USDC lands in a token account tied to your main address without any setup, and the payout fee is already in the quote.

Spending it is a different story. Each Solana transaction pays a fee in SOL, and a first transfer to someone who has never held USDC adds a small rent deposit for their token account. Put some SOL in the wallet early, for example with a small USDC naar SOL swap to the same address.

Refunds always use the Ethereum sender address from the form. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. Withdrawals from an exchange come from addresses you do not control, so a returned payment may not find its way back; send from your own wallet instead.

The swap ID links to a status page with every step. Look up the deposit on Etherscan by its hash and the payout on Solscan once it leaves.
