USDT TRC20 to UNI: Swap Tron Tether for Uniswap on Ethereum

This pair crosses two unrelated chains. You start with Tether on Tron, a TRC-20 token that pays its fees in TRX. You finish with Uniswap (UNI), an ERC-20 token on Ethereum that pays its fees in ETH. There is no shortcut between them inside your wallet: a T address cannot hold UNI, and a 0x address cannot receive TRC20 USDT.

A swap handles the whole crossing in one step. The Tether leaves Tron, and UNI arrives at an Ethereum address you control. There is no bridge to approve and no wrapped token on either side.

The usual reason is simple. Many people keep savings or earnings as USDT on Tron because transfers there are cheap, and later want exposure to UNI, which lives only on Ethereum in the form this pair pays out. Swapping from Tron Tether directly saves first moving dollars onto Ethereum, where each extra transfer costs ETH gas.

Sending USDT TRC20 is a smart contract call, and Tron charges it in energy. If your address has staked TRX, the staked energy pays. If not, TronLink or Trust Wallet burns TRX from the same address to cover it. Either way the address must hold some TRX; with none at all the transfer fails and the Tether stays where it is.

We do not give a fee figure, because the energy price and whether the receiving address has held USDT before both change it. TronLink shows the estimated cost before you confirm. If it looks higher than your TRX balance, top up first, for example with a small USDT TRC20 zu TRX swap to the same T address.

Tron confirms the deposit in about a minute and lists it on Tronscan under the TRC-20 transfers tab of your address.

UNI is paid to an Ethereum mainnet address: 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters. Any of MetaMask, Rabby or a Ledger will give you one. Paste it from the wallet, then check the start and end against the original.

The same 0x format is used on BNB Smart Chain and on Ethereum layer-2 networks, so a wallet set to one of those will still show an address that looks right. The UNI will arrive on Ethereum mainnet regardless. If MetaMask is on another network when you check, the token seems missing. Switch to Ethereum, and if UNI still does not appear, add it from its page on Etherscan rather than from a contract address someone sends you.

Allow about 2 to 5 minutes for the payout to confirm on Ethereum. Search your address on Etherscan to see the incoming token transfer.

Receiving UNI costs you nothing. Moving it does. Every transfer, approval or app interaction from your 0x address pays gas in ETH, and UNI cannot cover that itself. A fresh address that has only UNI is stuck until some ETH reaches it.

If you do not hold ETH yet, consider splitting the plan: swap most of the Tether to UNI and a small part to ETH with USDT TRC20 zu ETH, both to the same 0x address. If you only plan to hold the UNI in one place, the ETH can wait until you decide to move it. Just do not send the address's last ETH elsewhere if UNI is still sitting there.

Both sides are tokens, so both need a separate fee coin: TRX before the swap, ETH after it. That is the detail people most often miss on this page. The value also changes character. Tether tracks the dollar, and Tether as issuer can freeze USDT held at an address. UNI is a governance token whose price moves with the market, so the amount you receive reflects the rate at the moment your deposit confirms.

The quote comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets. The exchange box shows how much UNI you receive after fees for the USDT you enter, and the rate floats until your Tron deposit confirms. After that, most swaps finish within minutes, then Ethereum needs a few minutes for the payout.

There is no account, email or ID at any step. Enter your own TronLink or Trust Wallet address as the sender. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered, as USDT TRC20 on Tron.
