So tauschen Sie Tether (TRC20) in Cosmos
Getting the Tether out of a Tron wallet
The awkward part of this pair is on the sending side, not the receiving one. A USDT transfer on Tron is paid for with energy and bandwidth, and if the address has no staked TRX, the wallet burns TRX instead. A T-address holding only Tether cannot send it at all.
So before you start, open TronLink or Trust Wallet and check there is some TRX next to the USDT. If there is none, send a little TRX to that address from elsewhere first. Users who move TRC20 Tether often stake TRX for energy, which makes each transfer cheaper.
Then send the exact USDT amount you typed into the box to the deposit address. Tron confirms in about a minute, and Tronscan lists the transfer under your T-address. From there, most swaps finish within minutes.
Which Tether can go to this deposit address
| Your Tether is on | Address it leaves from | Use this page |
|---|---|---|
| Tron (TRC20) | T, 34 Zeichen | USDT TRC20 to ATOM (here) |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | 0x plus 40 hex | USDT ERC20 to ATOM |
| Solana (SPL) | base58, no 0x | USDT SOL zu ATOM |
| Lawinen-C-Kette | 0x plus 40 hex | USDT Avalanche to ATOM |
Tether exists on several chains, and each version needs its own deposit address. This page only accepts USDT on Tron. If your wallet shows the Tether under Ethereum, use USDT ERC20 to ATOM; if it is on Solana, use USDT SOL zu ATOM. Tether sent on the wrong chain does not show up at this address, so check the network label in the wallet, not just the token name.
A cosmos1 address for the payout
The ATOM is paid to a Cosmos Hub address that starts with cosmos1. Add Cosmos Hub in Keplr, Trust Wallet or Vultisig and copy the address it gives you. A T-address, a 0x address or an address from another Cosmos chain such as osmo1 will not work here.
Below the address sits an optional Memo. Leave it empty for your own wallet. Fill it only when the ATOM is going to an exchange account and that exchange gave you a Memo together with its cosmos1 address; without it, the exchange may not know which account the coins belong to.
Cosmos Hub settles the payout in under a minute. You can see it on Minzscan by searching your cosmos1 address. If Keplr does not list the new balance at once, refresh it; Mintscan is the record that counts.
Why move a dollar balance into ATOM
People who hold Tether on Tron usually got it as a payment or parked it there between trades. Moving part of it into ATOM is a way to take a position in the Cosmos Hub, and many do it to stake: ATOM delegated to a validator earns network staking rewards and gives a vote on Cosmos Hub proposals.
It is also a simple way into the wider Cosmos world. Once you hold native ATOM, you can send it over IBC to other Cosmos chains from the same wallet.
Keep the trade-off in mind. Tether tracks the US dollar, and ATOM does not; the value of what you receive will move with the market. Some people split a larger amount into several smaller swaps over time rather than converting it all at once. Note too that Tether can freeze USDT at any address, which is a property of the token itself; holding ATOM instead does not carry that issuer control.
The rate and what the box shows
This pair has a fixed starting point: you send a set number of USDT. What floats is the ATOM side. The quote comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets, and the box shows the ATOM amount after fees before you send anything.
The rate stays live until the Tron deposit confirms, so the final ATOM figure can differ a little from the first quote if the market moves in that minute. The reference rate next to the box is the plain market price before fees, useful for a quick check.
Since the ATOM payout covers its own Cosmos fees, the only extra cost you plan for is the TRX or energy on the sending side. When you later want the dollars back, ATOM zu USDT TRC20 runs the same route the other way, though any ATOM you delegate first needs 21 days to unbond.
Rückerstattungen und Support
The T-address you type in the sender field is where Tether goes back if something goes wrong. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered, so the USDT returns on Tron to that same T-address.
That only works well when the address is yours. Tether withdrawn from an exchange account leaves from the exchange's pooled wallet, and a refund to it can be hard to trace back to you. Withdraw to TronLink or Trust Wallet first and send the deposit from there.
If Tronscan shows the transfer confirmed and the status page stays on one step for an unusually long time, email support@ghostswap.io with your swap ID and the Tron transaction hash. Avoid sending more USDT while the first deposit is being looked at.
Häufige Fehler
- Trying to send USDT from a T-address that holds no TRX or energy, so the transfer cannot be signed.
- Sending ERC20 or Solana Tether to the TRC20 deposit address instead of using the page for that network.
- Pasting a T-address or osmo1 address where the ATOM payout needs a cosmos1 address.
- Filling in a Memo for a personal Keplr wallet, or skipping the one an exchange account requires.
- Sending the Tether straight from an exchange account, which makes the exchange's wallet the refund address.
