USDT SOL to SOL: Turn Solana Tether Into SOL, No KYC

The most common case is a wallet that received USDT and little else. A client, a peer-to-peer trade or an app paid Tether to your Solana address, and now the wallet has dollars but almost no coin to pay fees with. Turning part of that USDT into SOL sorts it out for good.

Others want out of the stablecoin. Some prefer to hold SOL as a long-term position; some would rather not keep a balance in Tether because of how it is issued and run. USDT is controlled by Tether, which can freeze the token at any address, on Solana as on other chains.

The quote comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets. Since SOL is volatile and USDT is not, the number of SOL you get moves with the market until your deposit confirms; the box always shows the current figure after fees.

It helps to be clear about what changes. USDT on Solana is a token issued by Tether; USDC on Solana is a different token issued by Circle; SOL is the network's own coin. Both issuers can freeze their token at an address, which is a property of each token rather than of Solana.

Moving from USDT to SOL trades a steady dollar value for a coin whose price moves both ways. Convert only what you are comfortable seeing rise or fall. If you simply prefer Circle's token to Tether's, USDT SOL zu USDC SOL keeps a dollar balance and changes the issuer instead.

Whatever you choose, keep some SOL. A Solana wallet with stablecoins and no SOL can receive but cannot send.
