From Solana dollars to Tron's fee coin
This pair is usually a first step onto Tron. Someone holds Tether on Solana, is about to receive or send USDT on Tron, and needs TRX to pay for it. Tron charges TRC20 transfers in energy and bandwidth, and an address without staked TRX burns TRX for them. Swapping part of the Solana Tether into TRX covers that.
Some people do the opposite of saving: they leave a stablecoin for TRX itself because they want exposure to Tron's coin. That is a market decision; TRX has no peg and its dollar value moves.

Setting up the Tron side
The payout address starts with T and is 34 characters long. TronLink and Trust Wallet both generate one. A Solana address pasted here is the wrong format and will be rejected.

With TRX in hand you can either keep it liquid, so each TRC20 transfer burns a little, or stake some in TronLink for energy. Staked TRX cannot be sent while it is staked, so keep enough unstaked for the next transfer you plan.
How the quote is built
