USDC to ADA: Swap USD Coin on Ethereum to Cardano, No KYC

USDC on this pair is an ERC-20 token living on Ethereum. It is a contract balance at your 0x address, and Ethereum charges gas in ETH every time it moves. ADA is different in kind: it is the base coin of Cardano, a proof-of-stake chain with its own addresses, its own fee rules and its own wallets.

So the swap is not a transfer between two versions of one asset. You give up a dollar-pegged token on one chain and receive a floating-price coin on another. No bridge sits in the middle and no wrapped ADA is ever issued on Ethereum. The ADA arrives as a normal Cardano transaction that Eternl, Lace or VESPR can spend right away.

One consequence matters before you start: MetaMask, Rabby and other Ethereum wallets cannot display Cardano balances. You will need a Cardano wallet open next to your Ethereum one to copy the receiving address. It also changes who can intervene: Circle, the issuer of USDC, is able to freeze the token at an address, while ADA has no issuer with that power.

A USDC transfer is a call to the token contract, and Ethereum bills that call in ETH, never in USDC. With zero ETH beside it, your USDC stays put. Many people discover this only at the confirm step, when MetaMask or Rabby shows an insufficient-funds warning for gas.

Also confirm that your USDC really sits on Ethereum. USDC on Solana, Base or BNB Smart Chain is a separate entry in the coin list, and sending it to this pair's deposit address does not work. Ethereum then takes about 2 to 5 minutes to confirm the deposit before the ADA is sent.

Cardano wallets show more than one kind of address, and only one of them works here. The payout needs a payment address, the long string starting with addr1 that appears on the Receive screen of Eternl, Lace or VESPR. A reward address begins with stake1. It identifies your staking account and cannot receive this payout.

Copy the addr1 address with the wallet's copy button and paste it whole. Cardano addresses are long, so compare the first six and last six characters after pasting rather than reading the middle. Wallets rotate receive addresses, and any unused addr1 from your own wallet is fine.

Two other slips are worth ruling out. Do not paste a 0x address from the Ethereum side into the ADA field, and do not use an address from a test-network wallet, which starts with addr_test1 and holds no real ADA. Delegation on Cardano does not lock the coins or move them out of your wallet. The ADA stays spendable while it is delegated, and rewards are credited to the stake address linked to your wallet. That is why the payout goes to an addr1 address: the wallet links it to its stake key on its own.

Keep a small part of the ADA aside, because every Cardano transaction, including a dapp interaction, pays its fee in ADA.
