What TRX does for a Tron wallet
TRX is the coin that keeps a Tron wallet working. Plain TRX transfers draw on a free daily bandwidth allowance, but USDT TRC20 and other token transfers are smart contract calls that need energy. Without TRX staked for energy, the network burns TRX to cover each call. A Tron wallet holding USDT and no TRX may not be able to send it at all.
That is the most practical reason to swap SUI to TRX. Someone holds SUI, has a Tron wallet with stablecoins in it or about to receive some, and needs the fee coin. Others want Tron's own coin to hold, or to stake in TronLink for energy.
A new T address needs nothing beforehand. On Tron an address becomes an active account when it first receives TRX, so the payout itself activates it. From then on the wallet can send TRX and has the coin it needs to pay for token transfers.
Sending from Sui: gas, coin objects and staked SUI
Sui finalizes a transaction in a few seconds, and the gas for it is paid in SUI. Slush and Nightly add that gas on top of the amount, so if you try to send your entire balance the wallet will trim the amount or refuse. Leave a small amount of SUI behind.
Sui keeps balances as coin objects. A wallet that has received SUI many times may hold lots of small objects, and the wallet merges them as part of the send. You do not have to do anything about it; it only explains why the transaction on Suíço can list several inputs.
SUI staked with a validator sits outside the spendable balance. Withdraw it in your wallet first. Sui has no waiting period for this, although the stake earns nothing for the epoch you withdraw in. Then send the free SUI to the deposit address and use the same 0x Sui address in the refund field.
Two address formats that never overlap
Sui writes its addresses as 0x and then 64 hexadecimal characters. A Tron address starts with a capital T and is 34 characters of base58 text. Because they look nothing alike, the payout field rejects a Sui address straight away. The real risk is copying a T address you did not mean to use.
Trust Wallet shows many chains in one list, and the Tron entry is the one you need. If you keep several accounts in TronLink, pick the one you will actually use for fees, since the payout field cannot tell which of your T addresses you meant.
An exchange account that accepts TRX also gives you a T address. That works, but the exchange then controls the coins. If the point of the swap is to pay fees from your own Tron wallet, send the TRX there instead. Tron confirms the payout in about a minute, and Tronscan shows it under the address you entered.
SUI and TRX at a glance
| SUI (you send) | TRX (you receive) | |
|---|---|---|
| Network | Sui | Tron |
| Endereço | 0x mais 64 caracteres hexadecimais | Começa com T, 34 caracteres |
| Finalidade | Alguns segundos | Aproximadamente um minuto |
| Taxa paga em | SUI | TRX, or bandwidth and energy |
| Carteiras | Slush, Nightly | TronLink, Trust Wallet |
| Explorer | Suíço | Tronscan |
Both chains are quick, so confirmations take up little of the total time. Sui settles the deposit in seconds and Tron adds a block about every three seconds, which is why most swaps finish within minutes once the deposit is final. The bigger difference is in fees. On Sui every transaction pays gas in SUI. On Tron a wallet can avoid burning TRX by staking it for bandwidth or energy, something heavy USDT TRC20 users often set up once they hold enough TRX.
TRX or USDT TRC20: choose the right payout
If the goal is dollars on Tron, the direct route is SUI para USDT TRC20. That payout is a token, so it needs TRX next to it before it can be sent on. Many people run two swaps: a small one here for TRX and the main amount to USDT TRC20. Doing it in that order means the fee coin is already waiting when the stablecoin lands.
If you want TRX for its own sake, to hold it or to stake it for energy, this pair is the whole job. TRX is the native coin, so it moves with the bandwidth or TRX in the same wallet and needs nothing else.
The rate for both pairs comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and floats until your SUI deposit is final. The box shows the TRX you will receive after fees before you commit.
Erros comuns
- Trying to send the full SUI balance and leaving nothing for gas, so the wallet refuses the deposit.
- Sending before withdrawing staked SUI to the free balance.
- Pasting a T address from an exchange account when the TRX is meant to pay your own wallet's fees.
- Expecting USDT TRC20 from this pair; it pays TRX, and USDT on Tron has its own SUI pair.
- Entering a Sui address you do not control as the refund address.
