THETA to BNB: Swap Theta Network THETA for BNB Smart Chain BNB

Theta Network has two coins. THETA is the one validators and guardian nodes stake, and TFUEL is the one that pays transaction fees. Sending THETA to the deposit address therefore costs a fee in TFUEL, not in THETA. A Theta Wallet that holds THETA but no TFUEL cannot send the deposit at all.

Check both balances before you start. If TFUEL is at zero, add a small amount to the same wallet first, then come back to the swap. Swapping your whole THETA balance is fine, since the fee does not come out of it.

Staked THETA is the other thing to sort out. THETA locked with a guardian or validator node cannot be sent until it has been withdrawn, and the withdrawal takes time on Theta. Start the swap only when the THETA shows as a liquid balance. A liquid deposit is usually credited within a few minutes, which you can follow on Explorador theta.

Theta and BNB Smart Chain both use addresses made of 0x and 40 hexadecimal characters. That makes it easy to paste the wrong one. The payout field needs an address from a wallet that shows BNB Smart Chain balances, such as Trust Wallet, MetaMask or Rabby. The sender field needs your Theta address.

Even when the same seed creates the same 0x string on both chains, the balances live on separate networks. BNB sent to a Theta-only wallet will not show there, and THETA never appears in a BSC wallet. Label the two addresses in your head before you paste.

If the payout goes to an account on a trading platform, make sure the platform's deposit page says BNB Smart Chain or BEP-20. A platform that only credits BNB on another network may not see the payout at that address.

Theta Network is built around video delivery and its EdgeCloud GPU service, and its coins are used mostly inside that system. BNB is the gas coin of BNB Smart Chain, where many wallets, token swaps and other apps run. Holders who want to use those apps, or simply hold BNB instead of THETA, take this route.

That helps after the swap. Because BNB is the fee coin on BSC, the payout can pay for its own transfers. You do not need to add anything to the BSC wallet first, and you can move the BNB or use it for BEP-20 token transactions straight away.

The address row is identical, which is exactly why it cannot be used to tell the two apart. The fee row is the one that catches people out: the coin you send is not the coin that pays for sending it. On the receiving side the opposite holds, and BNB covers its own gas.

So the only extra coin this swap needs is TFUEL, and only on the sending wallet. Top it up before the swap, not halfway through, because a deposit that cannot be broadcast simply never reaches the swap.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. On this pair a refund is THETA on Theta Network, never BNB, so the sender field must hold a Theta address from a wallet you control.
