PYUSD to NOT: Swap PayPal USD for Notcoin on TON

PYUSD is the US dollar stablecoin that Paxos issues for PayPal. This pair takes the ERC-20 version on Ethereum. Notcoin began as a tap game inside Telegram and now lives as a jetton on TON, the network whose coin is Gram (GRAM), formerly Toncoin. The swap carries dollars from one ecosystem into a token from a very different one.

PYUSD bought or held inside the PayPal app cannot be used as the deposit directly. Withdraw it first to an Ethereum wallet you control, such as MetaMask, Rabby or a Ledger, and choose the Ethereum network when PayPal asks. PayPal also offers PYUSD on Solana; that is a separate coin in the exchange box and does not count here.

Once the PYUSD sits at your own 0x address, that address becomes your sender and refund address for the swap.

PYUSD is a token, so it cannot pay for its own transfer. Sending it on Ethereum costs gas in ETH, and a wallet holding only PYUSD will refuse to send. Put a small amount of ETH in the same wallet before you start.

How much gas you need changes with network traffic. Your wallet shows the estimate before you approve, and it is paid on top of the PYUSD amount. The руководство по ценам на газ explains why quieter hours often cost less.

Check two things in MetaMask or Rabby before you approve. The network should be Ethereum mainnet, not a layer-2 that shares the same 0x address. The token should be PYUSD, not another dollar token from the same list. Ethereum then confirms the deposit in about 2 to 5 minutes, and you can watch it on Etherscan.

Notcoin is paid to a TON address: 48 characters, usually starting with UQ or EQ. Keeper (formerly Tonkeeper) and My Wallet (formerly MyTonWallet) both show one, and the same address holds GRAM and every jetton, NOT included. There is no separate Notcoin address to create.

The exchange box also has a Payment ID field for NOT. Leave it empty when the address is your own wallet. It only matters when the payout goes to an exchange account that collects many customers at one address and gave you an ID to tell them apart.

Your Ethereum 0x address cannot receive NOT, even if your wallet app supports both chains. Copy the TON address from the receive tab of the TON wallet and paste it whole. Tonviewer shows the jetton arriving once TON has confirmed it, which takes under a minute.

Receiving NOT costs you nothing. Moving it later does: every TON transfer pays its fee in Gram, and jettons cannot cover their own fees. If the TON wallet is new and empty, it will hold the Notcoin but cannot send it anywhere until a little GRAM arrives. The TON newcomers guide walks through setting that up.

Look-alike jettons with the Notcoin name exist on TON. The payout from this swap is the real one, but if you later receive NOT from elsewhere, open the jetton in Tonviewer and compare its master contract with the one your wallet lists for Notcoin. Same name with a different master contract means a different token.

PYUSD and NOT also behave differently once held. PYUSD aims to follow the dollar, while Notcoin's value moves with the market.

Both tokens rely on a second coin for fees, which is the main thing to plan for. You need ETH to get the PYUSD out and GRAM to move the NOT later. The confirmation row is the pleasant surprise: once Ethereum has done its part, TON settles the jetton in well under a minute. Paxos, as the issuer, can freeze PYUSD held at an address; that is a feature of the token itself, written into how it is issued.

Until the PYUSD deposit confirms on Ethereum, the NOT rate floats with the market. After that, most swaps finish within minutes, and TON confirms the payout in under a minute. If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. Here that is your Ethereum address, so it must be a wallet you control and not a PayPal or exchange address that sent on your behalf.
