LTC to TON: Swap Litecoin to Toncoin, Now Gram (GRAM)

The coin people search for as Toncoin or TON has been renamed Gram, ticker GRAM. Nothing about the network changed for this swap: it still runs on TON, addresses look the same, and Keeper (formerly Tonkeeper) and My Wallet (formerly MyTonWallet) still hold it. The page address keeps "ton" so old links keep working.

If your wallet still shows TON as the ticker, it simply has not caught up with the rename yet. It is the same asset either way. More pairs for the coin are on the Граммовый обмен стр.

Watch out for tokens on TON with similar names. Jettons are tokens issued on the TON network, and anyone can create one with a lookalike name. The payout from this pair is the network's own coin, not a jetton, and it shows as the main balance in your wallet.

Litecoin produces a block every 2.5 minutes, and your deposit needs about 10 minutes to confirm. The sender should be an ordinary Litecoin address (ltc1, L or M) in Nexus Wallet, Exodus or a Ledger. The wallet adds the LTC network fee, which is small.

One Litecoin detail trips some people up. Coins held in an MWEB balance, with addresses starting with ltcmweb1, are kept on a separate extension block. Move them back to a regular address before the swap and send from there, so that the sender address you enter is an ordinary one and a refund can reach it.

A TON address is 48 characters and usually starts with UQ or EQ. Both forms point to the same wallet. Keeper and My Wallet now show the UQ form by default, so copy whatever the Receive tab gives you and paste it whole.

If the coins go to an exchange account, the exchange will give you a Memo, sometimes called a comment or tag, together with its shared address. You must enter that Memo when you set up the swap. Without it the coins reach the exchange but cannot be matched to your account. A personal wallet does not need a Memo.

TON is closely tied to Telegram, and many people want coins on it to use Telegram's wallet features, mini-apps and payments. Litecoin holders often swap a part of their balance across to get started, because there is no simple way to send LTC to a TON wallet directly.

If a swap cannot be completed, the LTC goes back to the Litecoin sender address you entered. Enter the address of your own wallet there. An exchange withdrawal comes from the exchange's own address, so refunded LTC sent there may be lost to you.
