USDT to XLM: Swap Tether TRC20 to Stellar Lumens, No KYC

Stellar was designed for payments. Ledgers close every few seconds and the network fee, paid in XLM, is a tiny fraction of a lumen. People who hold dollars as TRC20 Tether swap into XLM to fund a Lobstr or Freighter wallet, to pay someone who asked for lumens, or simply to hold XLM itself.

The direction matters. You are leaving a dollar-pegged token for a coin whose price moves with the market. If the goal is only to send dollars somewhere cheaply, check whether the recipient can take Tether directly first. If you want lumens, this pair gets them to a wallet you control without opening an exchange account.

The quote is drawn from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and floats until your Tron deposit confirms. The XLM figure in the box is already net of fees, so it is the amount that should reach your G address.

Sending Tether on Tron is a smart-contract call, and it is paid with energy and bandwidth. TronLink and Trust Wallet use staked or rented energy if the address has it; if not, they burn TRX from your balance instead. A Tron address holding USDT and zero TRX usually cannot send it at all.

So check the TRX balance before you start. If it is empty, top it up first, or the wallet will show a failed or stuck transaction that never reaches the deposit address.

Use your own T address, 34 characters long, as the sender. A refund only ever goes to that address, so an exchange withdrawal address is a poor choice here. Your payout goes to a Stellar G address, 56 characters in all. Copy it from Lobstr, Freighter or the Stellar app on a Ledger; never type it out. A Tron T address or a 0x address cannot receive lumens.

A Stellar account that has never received anything does not exist on the network yet. The first payment creates it, provided it covers the small minimum balance Stellar keeps locked in every account. A swap payout normally covers it. After that, part of your XLM is always reserved, which is why a wallet's Max button sends a little less than the full balance.

The Memo field matters only on the payout to an exchange or custodial account. If that service gave you a Memo, copy it exactly; without it, the lumens may not be credited to you. Your own Lobstr or Freighter wallet needs none, so leave the field empty.

Look up your G address on Stellaire Expert to see the incoming payment. Lobstr and Freighter usually show it at once, since Stellar settles in seconds.

Spending XLM later is cheap: each Stellar payment costs a tiny XLM fee, with no separate gas coin to keep. That is a change from Tron, where the USDT needed TRX or energy to move. The base reserve stays in the account, so plan around a slightly smaller spendable balance.

Something you leave behind with the swap: Tether, as issuer, can freeze USDT held at a specific address. Native XLM is not a token with an issuer, so that control does not apply to it. Equally, XLM has no dollar peg, and your balance in dollar terms will rise and fall.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. For this pair that means TRC20 Tether returned to your T address.

The status page carries a swap ID that support will ask for. When Tronscan shows the deposit as confirmed but the status page has not moved in a long time, email support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the Tron transaction hash. Do not repeat the deposit in the meantime.

For an exchange payout that has not appeared in your account, first find the payment on StellarExpert. If it reached the right G address with the right Memo, the exchange's support is the next stop; if the Memo was left out, they will need the transaction hash to match it to you.
