USDT ERC20 to POPCAT: Swap Tether on Ethereum to Popcat

Popcat is a cat-meme token on Solana, an SPL token with no peg and no issuer behind its value. USDT ERC20 is Tether on Ethereum, designed to track the US dollar. This pair links the two, across two chains, in one swap.

The usual alternative takes several steps: bridge the Tether to Solana or swap it for SOL, move it into a Solana wallet, then trade it for POPCAT there. Here you send USDT from your Ethereum wallet and POPCAT lands at your Solana address. No bridge or wrapped token sits in the middle.

Only Tether on Ethereum mainnet counts here. USDT also exists on Tron, BNB Smart Chain, Solana and other networks, and those versions are separate tokens. A wallet such as Trust Wallet can hold several at once, so check that the one you send is labelled ERC20 or Ethereum.

POPCAT is paid to a Solana address: 32 to 44 letters and numbers with no 0x at the start. A MetaMask address will not work. It is the wrong format for Solana, and the box will not accept it as a payout address.

Phantom needs a little care here. It supports several chains and can show both an Ethereum and a Solana address in the same account. On the Receive page, copy the one marked Solana. Solflare and a Ledger with the Solana app give a Solana address directly.

A new, empty Solana wallet is fine as the destination. It does not need SOL or any other token before the payout arrives. Solana confirms the POPCAT in under a minute, and you can check it on ソルスキャン by searching your Solana address.

Receiving the POPCAT costs you nothing. Moving it later does: every Solana transfer, including sending POPCAT to another wallet or swapping it again, pays its fee in SOL. A wallet holding only POPCAT cannot send it anywhere.

The fee is small, but plan for it now rather than later. One way is a separate swap into SOL, such as USDT ERC20からSOLへ, paid to the same Solana address. That way the wallet is ready the moment you want to move the POPCAT.

Watch out for copies as well. Look-alike tokens called POPCAT exist, and some are dropped into wallets unasked. Do not approve anything a look-alike token asks you to sign.

Every row differs, so you need two wallets, or one multichain wallet used carefully. The usual setup is MetaMask or Rabby for sending the Tether and Phantom or Solflare for receiving. Copy the Solana address first, then switch to the Ethereum wallet to send the deposit.
