DOT to USDT SOL: Swap Polkadot for Tether on Solana, No KYC

Many DOT holders stake, and staking rewards pile up in a coin whose price moves every day. Converting some DOT to USDT fixes that part in dollars. This pair pays the Tether on Solana, which suits people who already use Phantom or Solflare, or who want to use the USDT in Solana apps where transfers cost very little.

Polkadot and Solana have nothing in common at the wallet level. Your Polkadot account starts with 1 and lives in Nova Wallet, Talisman or SubWallet. The USDT needs a Solana address, a string of 32 to 44 letters and numbers without any 0x prefix. Set up the Solana wallet first and keep both apps open while you fill in the box.

Two Polkadot rules catch people out. First, an account must keep a small minimum balance, the existential deposit, or it is cleared. Do not send the very last DOT; leave a little for that and for the transfer fee, which is paid in DOT. Second, staked DOT cannot be transferred. If your coins are bonded or in a nomination pool, unbond them first and wait until the wallet shows them as transferable.

Paste the receive address from Phantom, Solflare or a Ledger on Solana. It is base58 text, so it has no 0x and no leading 1 like a Polkadot account. A Polkadot address pasted here cannot hold SPL tokens, and the box will refuse it or the payout will fail.

The USDT arrives without you needing anything else in the wallet. Moving it later is a different story: Solana fees are paid in SOL, never in USDT. A wallet with Tether and no SOL can see its balance but cannot send it. Add a small amount of SOL to the same address before you need to spend the USDT; ソルスキャン shows both balances.

Solana confirms the payout in under a minute, and the USDT then appears in the token list of your wallet.

All three are Tether's USDT. What changes is the chain, the address and the coin that pays fees afterwards. Choose by where the USDT is going next: a Solana app or Phantom wallet points to this page, a Tron wallet to TRC20, an Ethereum app to ERC20. Make sure the USDT you hold is Tether's. On Solscan or in the token details of your wallet, Tether's USDT on Solana uses the mint that starts with Es9vMFrz. A token with the same name and a different mint is something else. Tether, as the issuer, can freeze USDT at an address; that is a property of the token on every chain.
