BTC to ATOM: Exchange Bitcoin for Cosmos Hub ATOM, No KYC
To swap BTC to ATOM, type the Bitcoin amount, paste the cosmos1 address that should receive the ATOM and the Bitcoin address you send from, then send BTC to the single-use deposit address. Once one to three Bitcoin blocks confirm the deposit, native ATOM is paid on Cosmos Hub, and a Memo is only needed if that cosmos1 address belongs to an exchange account.

Your ATOM is paid out once your BTC deposit confirms, and Cosmos Hub then confirms it in under a minute. Most swaps finish within minutes. The exact time depends on how fast each network confirms your deposit. Follow each step on the status page with your swap ID.
Paying the Bitcoin side
Your deposit counts once Bitcoin confirms it in one to three blocks. Blocks arrive roughly every ten minutes on average, but the fee rate you set decides how soon a miner picks up your transaction. Check mempool.space for the rates recent blocks have accepted and choose one in that range.
Sparrow and Electrum let you bump a stuck transaction with replace-by-fee. That raises the fee on the same payment, which is the right fix if the deposit sits unconfirmed. Sending a second deposit is the wrong one, because it creates a second payment that has to be sorted out separately.
While Bitcoin confirms, the ATOM amount still floats with the market. The quote comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets, and the box shows the ATOM after fees before you send. Most swaps finish within minutes once the deposit confirms.
A cosmos1 address, and when a Memo matters
The ATOM payout goes to an address that starts with cosmos1. Keplr, Trust Wallet and Vultisig all create one. Addresses for other Cosmos chains look similar but use a different prefix, such as osmo1, and they are not valid here.
| Payout goes to | 住所 | メモ |
|---|---|---|
| Your own wallet (Keplr, Trust Wallet, Vultisig) | cosmos1... | 必要ありません |
| An exchange account | cosmos1... shown by the exchange | Usually given; enter it in the box |
Exchanges often route many customers through one cosmos1 address and tell them apart by the Memo. If yours gives you a Memo, enter it in the field the exchange box shows. For a personal wallet, leave the field empty. Cosmos Hub confirms the payout in under a minute, and you can check it on ミントスキャン.
ATOM pays its own fees
Unlike token pairs, where you also need a separate coin for gas, ATOM is the fee coin of Cosmos Hub. The ATOM you receive can pay for its own transfers and staking actions straight away. There is nothing else to set up.
Still, do not spend or delegate every last unit. Each delegation, reward claim and transfer costs a small fee in ATOM, so keep a little liquid in the wallet for those. Keplr shows the fee before you sign each transaction.
From Cosmos Hub, ATOM can also travel to other Cosmos chains through IBC transfers in Keplr. That is a separate step after the swap; the payout itself always lands on Cosmos Hub.
Staking the ATOM after it arrives
Many people make this swap to stake. In Keplr or Trust Wallet you pick a validator and delegate your ATOM, and rewards start to build up in the wallet, ready to claim.
Know the exit before you go in. Undelegating on Cosmos Hub starts a 21-day unbonding period, during which the ATOM earns nothing and cannot be moved. If you might need the value back as Bitcoin soon, leave that part undelegated.
Spread the stake if you like: delegating to more than one validator is common and lowers the impact of any single validator going offline. Mintscan lists validators with their commission and uptime, which helps you choose.
Why Bitcoin holders add ATOM
Bitcoin does not pay staking rewards. Some holders move part of their BTC into ATOM to earn rewards by delegating, and to take part in Cosmos Hub governance, where staked ATOM votes on proposals.
Others want exposure to the wider Cosmos ecosystem of connected chains. ATOM can be far more volatile than BTC, so a swap here usually means a smaller, more active slice of a portfolio, not the core of it.
GhostSwap is a no-KYC crypto exchange, so no account, email or ID is part of the swap. To move back into Bitcoin later, use ATOM 〜へ BTC, keeping the unbonding wait in mind. If you hold ether instead, ETH 〜へ ATOM leads to the same cosmos1 payout.
Refunds and swap support
If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. On this pair the refund is BTC, on the Bitcoin chain.
That makes the sender field worth a second look. Use an address from Sparrow, Electrum or a hardware wallet that you control. A deposit sent from an exchange account leaves from the exchange's hot wallet, and a refund to that address may not be credited to you.
Track each swap on its status page using the swap ID. If mempool.space shows the deposit confirmed and the status has not moved for a long while, contact support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the Bitcoin transaction ID.
よくある間違い
- Pasting an osmo1 or other Cosmos-chain address instead of a cosmos1 address on Cosmos Hub.
- Leaving out the Memo an exchange account gave you, so the exchange cannot credit the ATOM.
- Setting a very low Bitcoin fee rate, so the deposit waits through many blocks while the quote floats.
- Delegating all the ATOM at once and leaving none liquid for the next fee or claim.
- Sending BTC from an exchange account, which puts the exchange's hot wallet in the refund field.
