BCH to XMR: Swap Bitcoin Cash to Monero With No KYC

Send the BCH from a wallet you hold the keys for, such as Electron Cash or Cashonize. Bitcoin Cash fees are paid in BCH and are normally very low, so unlike Bitcoin there is rarely any need to pick a fee level. Send the exact amount the box shows, in one payment.

Bitcoin Cash makes a block about every 10 minutes on average, and the deposit is usually confirmed in about 10 to 20 minutes. That wait is most of this swap. When the deposit has confirmed, most swaps finish within minutes.

You can follow the payment on ブロックチェア with its transaction ID. A Bitcoin Cash payment is public there, with its amount and addresses, just as a Bitcoin one would be.

Bitcoin Cash split from Bitcoin in 2017, and old-style Bitcoin Cash addresses starting with 1 look exactly like Bitcoin legacy addresses. That makes mix-ups easy. Modern wallets show BCH addresses in the CashAddr form, starting with bitcoincash:q or just q, which cannot be confused with Bitcoin.

For the sender address, use the CashAddr form your wallet shows. Make sure the coins you send really are BCH: if you hold both coins in one app, open the Bitcoin Cash account, not the Bitcoin one. BTC sent to this deposit address would not be part of this swap. If you hold Bitcoin and want Monero, use BTC 〜へ XMR を代わりにお使いください。

The same goes for refunds. The address you enter must be a Bitcoin Cash address you control, so returned BCH lands where you can spend it.

Monero addresses are 95 characters. A primary address starts with 4; subaddresses start with 8 and are created freely inside the wallet. For a swap, a new subaddress is the better choice, since every payout then arrives at an address used only once.

Copy it from Feather, Cake Wallet or Monero GUI, all of which give you the seed. モネロウォレットガイド compares them. Ethereum wallets such as MetaMask cannot hold Monero, so they have no address to give.

Paste the address and compare the first and last few characters with your wallet. If you see a much longer address starting with 4, it is an integrated address with a payment ID built in, usually from an exchange. Use your own wallet's address if the XMR is meant for you.

The payout appears in your wallet first as pending, then locked. Every Monero output stays locked for 10 blocks, about 20 minutes, before it can be spent. That is a network rule and applies to every XMR payment, not only swaps.

If nothing shows, check that the wallet has finished syncing. A wallet restored from its seed only scans from its restore height, so set that to a date before the swap or it will skip the payment. Monero explorers cannot show your balance, because the receiver is hidden; your own wallet is the only place to confirm it. Feather and Cake Wallet show the payout with its confirmation count, so you can watch the lock run down block by block.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. That is the BCH address you gave, so it should be one from your own Electron Cash or Cashonize wallet rather than an exchange deposit address.

The status page for your swap is opened with its ID. If the BCH has clearly confirmed on Blockchair and the status has not moved for a long time, email support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the Bitcoin Cash transaction ID. Do not send the BCH again in the meantime. Bitcoin Cash transactions cannot be cancelled once broadcast, so a second payment would simply be a second deposit to sort out. Keep your Electron Cash or Cashonize wallet until the swap is done.

Both coins were built for cheap everyday payments, so the main difference is privacy. Bitcoin Cash shows every balance to anyone who knows your address; Monero does not.
