USDT BEP20 to APE: Swap Tether on BSC to ApeCoin, No KYC

Both sides of this pair use the same address format: 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters. In MetaMask or Rabby, the address you send Tether from on BNB Smart Chain is also a valid Ethereum address, and you can paste it as the APE payout address if you like.

What differs is the network. The deposit is USDT as a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain, where gas is paid in BNB. The payout is APE as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet, where gas is paid in ETH. The swap moves value from one chain to the other with no bridge and no wrapped token.

Because the address is shared, the wallet is where confusion starts. After the payout, switch the wallet's network to Ethereum to see the APE. Looking at the same address on BNB Smart Chain will show the Tether gone and nothing new, which is normal.

Check that the Tether you send is the BEP-20 version. USDT on Tron, on Ethereum and on Solana are separate coins in the exchange box, and sending any of them to a BNB Smart Chain deposit address does not reach the swap. In MetaMask, the network selector should read BNB Smart Chain before you send.

One property of the token is worth knowing: Tether, the issuer, can freeze USDT held at a specific address. That applies to the BEP-20 version too. Once the value is APE on Ethereum, the Tether controls no longer apply to it. The rate comes from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets and floats until the deposit confirms.

Receiving APE costs you nothing. Spending it is another matter: every transfer of an ERC-20 token pays gas in ETH, and APE cannot pay for itself. An address that only holds APE can see it but not move it.

If the payout address is fresh, plan to put a little ETH on it before you need to send the APE anywhere. Gas on Ethereum is usually higher than on BNB Smart Chain, which is the trade-off of holding the Ethereum version.

The same applies in reverse. If you later want dollars back on BNB Smart Chain, the APE in USDT BEP20 pair takes ERC-20 APE, and that deposit is an Ethereum transfer paid in ETH. Keep that in mind before you empty the address of ETH.

If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. For this pair that is BEP-20 USDT back to your BNB Smart Chain address.
