Most ALGO to ZEC swaps are paid out within 5–15 minutes: the ALGO deposit needs under a minute to confirm on Algorand, then the ZEC is sent to your wallet, and Zcash confirms the payout in about 10–20 minutes. Busy networks can add a few minutes. ### How much is 1 ALGO in ZEC? 1 ALGO is worth about 0.0000968493 ZEC at the market rate, before fees (market prices, 3 Oct 2026). GhostSwap's quote in the exchange box already includes the service fee and the ZEC network fee. The minimum for this pair is about 240 ALGO. The rate floats with the market until your ALGO deposit confirms, so the exchange box shows the exact amount before you send. ### Do I need KYC or an account to exchange ALGO to ZEC? No. GhostSwap has no accounts: you paste the Zcash address that should receive the ZEC, send ALGO from your own wallet, and the ZEC goes straight to that address. No email, phone number or ID upload. ### What are the fees for converting Algorand to Zcash? The GhostSwap fee is already included in the rate in the exchange box, so the ZEC amount you see is what you receive. On top of that, the Algorand network fee for your deposit is paid in ALGO by your wallet. ### What wallet should I use to receive ZEC? To receive Zcash from your swap, we recommend using Zodl (formerly Zashi), Zkool or Zingo. All three can move ZEC into the shielded pool. Make sure your wallet supports the Zcash network before starting the exchange. Double-check your ZEC address before confirming — cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed. ### What format is the ZEC address? Use a Zcash address: it starts with t1 or t3 for a transparent address. Copy it from your wallet and paste it; never type it by hand. ### Can I track my ALGO to ZEC swap? Yes. After initiating your swap, GhostSwap provides a transaction status page where you can monitor progress in real-time. You can also track your ALGO payment on Allo (https://allo.info) and your incoming ZEC on Blockchair (https://blockchair.com/zcash). ### Is it safe to exchange ALGO for ZEC on GhostSwap? GhostSwap is non-custodial: there is no account balance holding your coins. Your ALGO deposit is converted and the ZEC is sent straight to the Zcash address you enter, so check that address twice — Zcash transfers cannot be reversed. ### Can my ALGO to ZEC swap be traced? Your ALGO transaction to GhostSwap is visible on the Algorand blockchain since Algorand is transparent — transactions are public on Allo. However, once your ZEC arrives in your wallet, Zcash privacy is optional: it supports both transparent (public) and shielded (fully private) transactions via zk-SNARKs. By swapping ALGO to ZEC on a no-KYC exchange like GhostSwap, there is no account linking the two transactions together. ### How does a cross-chain ALGO to ZEC swap work? Algorand lives on Algorand and Zcash on Zcash, two separate blockchains. Instead of a bridge, GhostSwap takes your ALGO on Algorand and pays native ZEC on Zcash, so you never hold a wrapped token or pay bridge fees. ### Is it legal to own and swap Zcash? In most countries, yes: owning and swapping Zcash is not banned, although some centralized exchanges have stopped listing privacy coins in certain regions. Privacy is a legitimate need, and using privacy-enhancing tools is not illegal in itself. You are responsible for following the cryptocurrency rules where you live. ### What happens if my ALGO to ZEC exchange fails? If a swap cannot be completed, the ALGO is refunded to the Algorand address you entered as the sender address. If something looks stuck, contact support with your swap ID from the status page. Most problems come from sending a different amount than shown or using an address on the wrong network. ## Related - [Reverse: ZEC to ALGO](https://ghostswap.io/exchange/zec-algo/) ([Markdown](https://ghostswap.io/exchange/zec-algo.md)) - [No-KYC Zcash exchange: all routes, minimums and times](https://ghostswap.io/zcash-exchange/) ([Markdown](https://ghostswap.io/zcash-exchange.md)) - [All GhostSwap pairs](https://ghostswap.io/exchange/) - [How to exchange](https://ghostswap.io/how-to-exchange/) - [Site guide for AI assistants](https://ghostswap.io/llms.txt)
