Bitcoin erhalten
Your BTC is paid out once your USDT Polygon deposit confirms, and Bitcoin then confirms it in one to three blocks. Most swaps finish within minutes. The exact time depends on how fast each network confirms your deposit. Follow each step on the status page with your swap ID.
From a Polygon dollar balance to bitcoin
USDT on Polygon is a common place for dollars to end up: payouts from apps, earnings from DeFi, transfers from people who wanted low fees. It holds a steady dollar value, which is the point of a stablecoin. Swapping it to BTC trades that steadiness for a coin whose price moves with the market, so the dollar value of what you receive will change after the swap.
People make that move to hold bitcoin for the long run, to pay someone who asks for BTC, or to hold an asset with no issuer behind it. Tether, as the issuer, can freeze USDT at an address; that is a property of the token. BTC, by contrast, is mined and has no central issuer.
The swap pays native BTC on the Bitcoin network, with no bridge and no wrapped bitcoin on Polygon. The quote is built from aggregated liquidity from leading crypto markets.
Make sure it is USDT on Polygon PoS
One 0x address can hold USDT on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and Avalanche at the same time, and MetaMask or Rabby shows each balance only when the matching network is selected. This pair accepts USDT on Polygon PoS only. Tether sent from Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain to the deposit address lands on a network the swap is not watching.
Before you send, switch the wallet to Polygon and check that the USDT balance is there. If the token sits on another network, use that network's own pair instead, for example USDT ERC20 zu BTC or USDT BEP20 zu BTC.
You can confirm which network a transfer used on PolygonScan. If your deposit hash is not found there, it went out on a different chain.
POL pays the gas
USDT cannot pay for its own transfer on Polygon. Every transaction there costs gas in POL, the network's native coin, which replaced MATIC. A wallet with USDT and no POL will refuse to send, or the transaction will fail.
Keep a small POL balance at the address you send from, and top it up before you start the swap if it is empty. Gas on Polygon is usually low compared with Ethereum mainnet, so a small balance lasts a while. The deposit then confirms on Polygon PoS in about a minute.
Send exactly the USDT amount the box shows, as a single token transfer to the deposit address. Do not add POL to the deposit address along with it. Only the USDT is part of the swap, and the POL you hold is just there to pay for sending it.
Where the BTC lands
Paste a Bitcoin address from a wallet you control: Sparrow, Electrum, or a hardware wallet such as a Ledger or Trezor. It starts with bc1, 3 or 1. The Polygon 0x address you send from does not belong here, and neither does an address for wrapped bitcoin on an EVM chain.
Once the swap runs, the BTC is broadcast to the Bitcoin network and confirms in one to three blocks, roughly ten minutes each. Search for your address on mempool.space to watch it arrive.
From then on, the BTC behaves like any other bitcoin you hold. Moving it later costs a Bitcoin network fee paid in BTC, which rises when blocks are full. You need no POL or any other coin on the Bitcoin side, and the Polygon wallet plays no further part.
Geschwindigkeit und Timing
The exchange box shows the BTC you will receive after fees for the USDT you enter. Next to it, the reference rate gives 1 USDT Polygon in BTC at market prices, before fees. This pair's minimum and maximum are listed in the box.
The rate floats until the Polygon deposit confirms, about a minute after you send. From there most swaps finish within minutes, and what remains is the Bitcoin confirmation of the payout. Since BTC moves in price while USDT does not, check the quote right before you send.
If you only want your dollars on another network, Polygon USDT can go to Tron through USDT-Polygon zu USDT TRC20 instead. For bitcoin, this pair is a single step. No account, email or ID is asked for: GhostSwap is a no-KYC crypto exchange.
Wenn der Tausch nicht abgeschlossen wird
If a swap cannot be completed, the coins are refunded to the sender address you entered. On this pair that is a Polygon address, so it has to be one in your own MetaMask, Rabby or hardware wallet, not a deposit address at an exchange, which may never credit a returned transfer.
Under its swap ID, each swap gets a status page. Your deposit shows on PolygonScan as a USDT token transfer, and the payout on mempool.space. If PolygonScan shows the transfer confirmed and the status page stays still for a long time, email support@ghostswap.io with the swap ID and the Polygon transaction hash. Do not resend the USDT.
To return to Polygon dollars later, use BTC zu USDT Polygon.
Häufige Fehler
- Sending USDT from Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain instead of Polygon PoS.
- Having no POL in the sending wallet, so the USDT transfer cannot go through.
- Pasting the Polygon 0x address into the Bitcoin payout field.
- Adding POL to the deposit address together with the USDT.
- Using an exchange deposit address as the sender, so a refund cannot reach you.
